“Let’s face it: sometimes you wander around online, looking for some refreshing inspirations. Sometimes you’re sort of fed up, because everyone sometimes looks the same. So it was one of these bizarre days that I’ve discovered a piece of poetry. A phenomenon which appeals to your soul and to your brain. It’s the story of a girl who fell in love with Albert Camus. It’s the story of Michelle Lara Lin, who daily confesses her rhymes as a love-story on a blog called The Stranger.”

Hello there. My name is Michelle Lara Lin. I’m a twenty year old Taiwanese New Zealander. I am not a reporter that Bill Clinton helped get out of a North Korean prison, although that would make for a brilliant story. The Stranger is my personal fashion blog, written in loving memory of Albert Camus (1913-1960). I use fashion as a platform to consolidate my spectrum of passions, and incorporate inspiration from literature, travel, art history, and psychology into my personal style. Beyond the blog entries, The Stranger is an experimental ground catering to my love of front-end development, web design, image-processing, and mint green.

Since I started The Stranger in February of 2012, I continue to build partnerships and collaborate with a variety of brands, designers, and retailers, ranging from high-street to high-end. My aesthetic is consistent yet versatile, romantic with an occasional dark twist. Some notable collaborations I have worked on include a promotional project with UNIQLO, a seasonal promotion for renowned UK retailer House of Fraser, and a long-term partnership with haute-couture designer Yuna Yang.
