To celebrate the launch of our fashionista spotlight series, I’d like to introduce a 22 year old fashionista who reminds me a little bit of superwoman. Her name is Sazan Barzani, and she does a little bit of everything: she’s a fashion blogger, entertainment host, but more significantly, the Editor in Chief of fashion e-zine, SpazMag.com! Spaz Magazine, is a colorful web-magazine that features everything fashion and beauty related. Spaz Magazine articles can also be found on Examiner.com, StyleItSocial Iphone App, LookBook.nu, Chictopia.com, and Fidoo.com. When she’s not ‘spazzing out’, Sazan is chasing a busy career in entertainment hosting.

Where are you from?

Background: Kurdistan of Iraq.

My background goes back to Kurdistan of Iraq. I was born in Nashville, TN, raised in Dallas, TX. I currently live between Dallas & Los Angeles, and am in the process of moving to LA permanently.

To you, which designer epitomizes the romantic look?

Chanel!

Do you have any style icons?

The Olsens, Rachel Bilson, Sienna Miller… lots more.

What is the most romantic thing someone has done for you?

Cheesy but picked out all the red flavor sour patch kids and put them all in one box. I had a month supply of red sour patch kids–DELISH!

What is the most romantic thing you have done for someone?

Spent 3 days non-stop creating a scrapbook. Wish I made a copy for myself that’s how good it was! Ha!

What is your favorite book, and why?

This is going to sound so childish, but I HATE books. I literally cannot sit still and focus. Even when I’m reading a magazine, I skip the long articles. I just can’t get into it. I’ve diagnosed myself with ADD plenty of times.

Has anybody ever called you inspirational? Why?

Yes. I have taken it to heart every single time. It’s so sweet, but I never expected to be someone’s inspiration. It’s a blessing and I think my passionate personality just shows people how dedicated I am to making a big dream become a reality. It’s been a long process, but I’m only half way there. The recognition has definitely been appreciated and has helped motivate me in so many unexplainable ways.

What is a quote that you live by?

BeTheMatch.org! It’s a national Bone Marrow Registry to help cancer patients who are in need of a bonemarrow transplant. I donated bone marrow to my littler brother who had Leukemia back in ‘09, and it will always be the most special thing I’ve ever done. Unfortunately, some cancer patients aren’t as lucky to find perfect matches within their families so they look to these registries to find a close match. So easy and pain-less! I hope people will read more about it get registered free online.

Iris van Herpen‘s fall 2012 haute couture collection cannot be praised or criticized without acknowledging the transparent McQueen influences. Nonetheless, the collection was strikingly bold and refreshing. Some looks reminded me Kafka’s Metamorphosis, and the human transformation into a gigantic cockroach. A haute couture cockroach, of course.
